Hey what’s up Nuge? Thanks for doing this interview.

By the way how did you get the name Nuge?
Justin Roy and Richie Belton came up with it because they were having a hard time pronouncing my last name. Who knows how it stuck for this long.

Do you think it’s important to have a nickname in skateboarding? I mean I don’t see a lot of John Smiths or some basic popular name like that.
That’s a weird one because everyone I hang out with has a weird nickname. john smith sounds pretty boring, sorry if there’s any john smiths reading. if so you should change your name to "Johnny  'back smith' grinds" or something.

Who’s your top 3 favorite people to skate with and why?
Slash because he skates until there’s no light, lizard because he’s got enough energy for four people, Gerwer because he’s funny as sh*t.

Who do you not like to skate with?
Rollerbladers.

I know that you're good at pool so I was wondering what’s the most you’ve ever taken from somebody?
A few Hundred. I do this pool tourney on Monday and its pretty fun. I won the last 7.



What do you think of Oregon? What do you like about it? Or do you hate it?
I was born in Portland so that rips. The whole place is just way mellower and every neighbor hood has a record store, breakfast spots, dive bars, and you can bike there. I hate the rain though, that pretty much sucks but other than that it’s pretty sweet.

Do you see yourself coming up here this year with anybody?
I try and visit Shimizu (Daniel) as much as possible. Baca (Sammy) and I were talking about heading there soon.

If you could do one other thing besides skateboarding for a living what would it be?
Shoot pool for a living.

Is Foundation working on a video this year? Or is Circa Combat?
They are both working on videos right now. Circa first and then the F video.



Tell me the first thing that comes to mind when you read the next couple things.

Early Mornings
Mornings are the sh*t. I’ve recently been waking up early to shred the park near my house.

Frank Gerwer
If I got shot, I would want frank there because he would make me crack up.

9-5 job
I was over 9-5 jobs long ago.

David Reyes
David is a good kid with a good head on his shoulders.

El Toro
El Toro is gone.

Lizard King
Lizard has lost his marbles.

If you could go to one place this year on tour where would it be?
Paris.

Why’s that?
Because I don’t know why.
