2005 Employee Party
On February the 12th of 2006 the entire EXIT staff gathered for our End of the Year”employee party. Missy and Jake decided that a day of snowboarding and a night of partying at the Silcox Cabin at Timberline Lodge would be the perfect setting for the EXIT employees to let loose. Upon arrival, we were greeted with a shining sun and no lift lines, but the best part was having the opportunity to ride with our fellow co-workers, which doesn't happen very often. Highlights include Jason Lilly shredding the entire mountain with while holding his 3 year old son, and Gabe accidentally dropping his glove on our favorite run just before it closed so ski patrol would let us hit it one more time. Thanks Gabe!
After shredding, we gathered our belongings and headed up to Silcox in the oldest snow cat of all time. When we arrived, we saw that Josh Bond, and EXIT's good friend Dustin Anderson had already started the festivities by sessioning a hip in front of the cabin. Kudos to Dustin for consistently nailing several frontside 720's at mach speed.
After watching an incredible sunset, we headed inside to check out the cabin. If you have never been to Silcox, I suggest you check it out. Lots of stonework and rustic wooden beams make it the perfect setting for any occasion. There are several small rooms with bunk beds, modern bathrooms and a main room complete with a huge fireplace, bar, and fully catered four star dining! After wetting our whistles and exchanging funny stories from the past year, we sat down to a four course dinner, prepared by KC, the resident cook, cat driver, and general care taker at Silcox. During dinner, Missy Samiee, presented employee awards for excellence throughout the last year. Many toasts were made and both stomachs and hearts were warmed.
After dinner, the staff grabbed their snowboards and headed back outside for a moonlight jib session on a poor unsuspecting picnic table. The table was the gathering point for the rest of the night, but some folks took breaks here and there to do other types of debauchery on their sleds. Highlights included: Matt Kenitzer dropping in off the roof and blindly flying off into the dark abyss, and several others hiking up Palmer for a midnight run. The session lasted until the wee hours of the morning.
In the morning, after a breakfast of fresh fruit and Belgian waffles, we snowboarded down to our vehicles and headed back to work The trip was a success and the all the EXIT staff would like to thank Missy and Jake for making the End of the Year employee party the best one ever!
