Lib tech Snowboards

Lib Technologies, also know as Lib Tech or Liberace Technolgoies, is snowboards built by snowboarders, engineered and developed by true riders. Every hand that touches a Lib Tech is the hand of a snowboarder and action sports hero.

The company, Mervin Manufacturing, also manufacturers GNU, Bent Metal Bindings and Roxy Snowboards. Mervin Manufacturing was founded by snowboarders Mike Olson and Pete Saari in 1977. In an industry where virtually every other snowboard company has moved production to China or offshore, Mervin is the longest running and last major snowboard factory in the USA. Based out of Seattle and Carlsborg, Washington, between the rugged Olympic and Cascade Mountain Ranges, Mervin is a direct link between riding and manufacturing.

Mervin’s constant and instant “build, ride, refine” philosophy has created many important developments in snowboard evolution, the most significant of which going back as far as the early 1980’s, when snowboard pioneer Mike Olson first introduced the use and marketing of deep sidecuts to increase edgehold and turning ability. 10 years later the ski industry would follow Mike’s lead with the development of deep “parabolic” shaped skis that have paved the way for modern skiing revolution. The latest innovation to come out of Mervin Manufacturing, specifically Lib Tech’s experiMENTAL division, is Magne-Traction. Designed to maximize control, edgehold and performance with wide sideways stances Magne-Traction is a snowboard specific design and revolutionary departure from traditional ski based snowboard designs. Magne-Traction makes riding ice as fun as powder and more effortless than ever in history. On top of its inhouse design team, Mervin works on product design with many of the world’s top snowboarders, including Jamie Lynn, Danny Kass, Travis Rice, Hampus Mossesson, Markku Koski, and Barrett Christy.

Rooted in the Pacific Northwest, Lib Tech has spent the last few decades innovating and refining new shapes and constructions on a daily basis. Here's the latest technologies from Lib Tech:

BANANA TECHNOLOGY:
Because you are not going skiing. Banana Technology replaces camber with rocker “banana” between your feet. More control, more pop, catchfree. Banana Technology is better everywhere!
Featured in the Skate Banana, Cygnus X1, TRS MTX BT, Boxscratcher, and Banana Hammock!

MAGNE-TRACTION:
Replaces “two contact point” ski theory. Conventional skis and snowboards have two contact points. Our Magne-Traction boards have seven! Seven is more than two. With Magne-Traction, when your two outside contact points lose grip, you’ve still got five more to take over. You won’t fall as much. Rides like a skateboard. Control and turn initiation come from under your feet, not a foot and a half to either side of your feet. Better edge hold. Climbs icy pipes! Turns ice into powder!
Featured in the Dark Series, Skate Banana, TRS, Travis, MC KINK, Box Scratcher, Lib Tech Snowskates, Cygnus X1, Skunk Apes, and Mullets.

TOYS, NO-TOXINS, TECHNOLOGY.
