- 15K Waterproof - A 15,000 garment withstands nearly 49 feet of waterfall in one day - should be more than enough for just about anyone - if you're that guy or girl who needs a bit more, jump up to 20k performance. Live in a sunny, dry snow area - go to 10k and take advantage of the added breathability and value.
- 10K Breathability - In over 20 years of making gear designed to withstand the biggest dumps our snow-filled backyard can dish out, we know one truth; Waterproof is easy - Breathability difficult. As lifelong riders, our philosophy is simple - develop materials with the highest level of Waterproof we can achieve, while not compromising breathability. We measure breathability by testing how many grams of water vapor pass through a square meter of fabric in a 24 hour period. The higher the rating number, the better the breathability. 10,000mm breathability is a higher than average rating and suitable for most conditions of average use. Going to be highly active? Move to our 15k for one of the best breathability ratings you can get.
- Tailored Fit - Pants shaped and slimmed at the knee. Jackets cut to fit closer to your body and cleverly constructed to move.
- Fully Taped Seams -Winter and it's watery friends are nasty fiends, always on the look out for a break in to your body. First step to this cold crime - totally waterproof shell materials. Second, and equally as important, fully sealing any puncture or seam in the materials that were incurred during the construction of the garment. Bonfire fully-taped seams literally cover every hole, from every needle punch involved in the construction and production of the garment. For riders who demand total protection, fully-taped seams are a basic of the best built riding gear. Most DL2 and every DL3 Bonfire product feature fully-taped seams. Because we believe pants are an essential part of a dry day, all Bonfire pants are fully-taped.
- Elbow Articulation - Articulated riding gear fits and feels better. Engineered elbow seams insure that when you raise your hands, your entire jacket and waist line won't rise with your arms. Comfortable, easy to ride in and never leaving you exposed at one of your key cold-points (the wrist), articulation is one way we keep you warm and protected through the engineering of Bonfire garments.
- Goggle Bag - Easy access and an over sized entry seam make the Bonfire goggle pocket a fuss-free feature when you need to store your goggles. Located internally on each jacket, Bonfire goggle pockets are designed to wrap close to your rib cage and stay out of your way. When you're wearing your goggles, feel free to use the pocket for alternative storage of almost object. Send us a photo - show us what you shoved in there!
- Pit Venting - When the heat is on, turn it off - with Bonfire's One Way Pit Vents. The most convenient and quick way to get rid of unwanted heat. Slick Mesh gusset and and one-way zipper that never has you reaching in the wrong location; at some point in your life you may experience a three-way, but until then - keep it one way...with your pit vents that is.
- Snap Tite - I'm sorry, but there's no polite way to put it, but nothing's worse than going over the bars and getting a cold pack shoved down your ass-crack. Bonfire's snap-tite system links your pant and jacket in a made-for-riding matrimony that keeps snow out of your pants and waist areas. A simple, elegant solution - available on all Bonfire pants and jackets, simply snap the powder skirt to the snap on any Bonfire pant and you're good to go. No busted zippers, no flaps, tabs or crabs (claws) - Snap-tite's been in Bonfire's line longer than most of our competitors have been riding.
- Sleeve Pocket - Sometimes you need something quick when you're riding; Chapstick, ID, Credit Card, Lift Pass, Harmonica, Lip Liner, Compact, Locker Key...you get the idea. A Women's only feature, Bonfire Sleeve Pockets are designed to be a quick reach in and out. Ergonomically shaped to your sleeve, with a fully secure and locking Zipper.

How do I clean outerwear?
Note:
All of the outerwear pants and jackets that we sell, and all water repellent finishes, work at their best if the garments are kept clean. Each garment should be washed once or twice a season to keep them working properly and lasting longer, and Nikwax is the best stuff for the job.
The Nikwax two-stage treatment is the cleaning and re-proofing sequence which will restore the original performance of manufacturer’s clothing, footwear or equipment. Cleaning your outerwear with Nikwax re-proofs and maintains breathability. Using Nikwax TX Direct adds and renews water repellecy and revives breathability. Warning: Conventional detergents can seriously damage water-repellency, breathability and wicking properties.
Waterproof Test
A good test on any type of waterproof gear is to see if water beads on the surface to form fine droplets. If droplets bead, this is a sign the gear is waterproofed and is repelling water. If gear doesn’t bead but ‘wets out’, you will see darker patches where water is being absorbed through the surface. This is a sign the gear is not performing and requires the Nikwax waterproofing treatment.
Nikwax Tech Wash removes contaminants, dirt and everyday grime that masks the water-repellent coatings on waterproof items. Nikwax Tech Wash is non-detergent so it won't damage the waterproof membrain in the outerwear.
Nikwax TX Direct is to re-apply the durable water repellant (or DWR) coating to the outside of the garment. If the jacket or pants are only a year or so old you might not need to use the TX Direct too, but if you are going to use it you need to wash whatever you're going to waterproof first. This is the stuff if your pants are no longer waterproof but can't afford new ones.
Nikwax Down Wash does the same thing as the Tech Wash but it's gentler so that it doesn't ruin the puff of your favorite puffy jacket.
Nikwax Lether applies just to the outer surface of the leather that you want to waterproof. This stuff needs at least overnight to settle into the leather before use.
